Body Paragraph:
The PEEL Method
Your body paragraphs are where you prove that your opinion is right. Think of each paragraph as a mini-argument that supports one reason from your thesis statement. To keep your writing clear and organized, follow the PEEL framework every time.

Each card below shows one sentence from a PEEL paragraph about raising the driving age. Read the sentence, guess which part of PEEL it belongs to, and then flip the card to see if you are right!
You have just learned the four parts of a PEEL paragraph. Now it is time to show what you know! Below you will see the four sentences of a complete PEEL paragraph about raising the driving age. Each sentence is missing its PEEL label. Drag the correct label into each blank space to show that you understand how a body paragraph is built. Good luck!
You have already practised putting a basic PEEL paragraph in order. Now it is time for a challenge! This paragraph is more advanced because it has two pieces of evidence and two explanations, instead of one. Real essay writers often use more than one piece of evidence to make their argument stronger. Read all seven sentences carefully before you start dragging. Think about which sentence introduces the idea, which sentences are proof, which sentences explain the proof, and which sentence wraps everything up. Drag the sentences into the correct order and then click Check to see how you did. Good luck!
Now You Try! Write Your Own Body Paragraph
You have learned PEEL. Now write your own body paragraph about raising the driving age.
Your paragraph must have:
✅ My topic sentence is brief and clear
✅ I have introduced two examples with explanations to prove my reason.
✅ I have written a final sentence that links my ideas back to the topic.
That is 6 sentences total.
